A red, white and black sweater worn by Princess Diana when she was 19 has sold for more than $50,000 at auction.

The then 19-year-old Diana wore the sweater and was photographed at a polo match in June 1981, following her engagement to Charles, when he was also heir to the throne. The sweater was created by "Warm & Wonderful" and the black sheep in it has often been paralleled with the rebellious and unique character of Princess Diana.

This sweater, the price of which can reach the figure of 80,000 dollars, will be exhibited in the showroom of "Sotheby" in New York, from September 7-13. The offer will be open from August 31 to September 14.
