After months of controversy, public scandals and explosive content, Fabrizio Corona's social media accounts have been shut down. Meta has deactivated the accounts of the former paparazzi and his online format "Falsissimo", confirming that the measure was taken for "multiple violations of Community Standards".
In the last year, Fabrizio Corona has become one of the most destabilizing figures in Italian showbiz, after he made public the marital crisis between Fedez and Chiara Ferragni, publishing videos, audio, private messages and behind-the-scenes footage of the relationship of Italy's most famous couple.
Corona's revelations shattered the public narrative of the "perfect family" and caused a media storm, with serious consequences for Ferragni's public image and her relationship with sponsors and public opinion. This episode marked a turning point, putting Corona back in the national spotlight.

In parallel with the Fedez-Ferragni case, Corona has intensified his attacks on what he has called “Alfonso Signorini’s media system”, accusing the Grande Fratello host of having some young people take advantage of his entry into the program in exchange for sexual favors. One of the former contestants, Antonio Medugno, declared on “Falsissimo” that he had experienced unwanted advances in 2021 and formalized the complaint for sexual violence and extortion.

In several episodes of “Falsissimo”, Corona has used harsh language and personal accusations, which have been considered by the parties mentioned as defamation and a serious violation of personal rights. This content has led to formal counter-notices and legal complaints, sent directly to the online platforms.
Why were their profiles closed?
Meta has clarified that the removal of profiles is not related to an immediate criminal order, but to repeated violations of the platform's rules, which include:
- potentially defamatory content
- publication of private materials without consent
- violation of privacy and personal dignity
- repeated use of aggressive and derogatory language

The decision was made after numerous whistleblowing and internal assessments, in accordance with company policies.
A few days before the closure of the profiles, the Civil Court of Milan had imposed a prohibitory measure against some content of “Falsissimo”, asking Corona to stop publishing materials that harm the reputation of Alfonso Signorini. However, Meta has stressed that their action is autonomous and based on the platform's standards, not simply on the judicial decision.

Corona's reaction
Through his lawyer, Corona has described the decision as "censorship" and spoken of a serious risk to freedom of expression, claiming that the closure of the profiles is a consequence of pressure from media and economic powers that felt threatened by his revelations.
