Comfort is key when traveling by plane. However, there is one piece of clothing that one flight attendant recommends we avoid when planning a flight.
Usually, the outfit most of us choose during a plane trip is a simple sweater, jeans, and sneakers.
However, Christine Negroni, a flight attendant, emphasizes the importance of knowing what material our clothing is made of before deciding to wear it on a plane.
"You may need to escape a fire in the cabin or there may be an emergency on the ground after you exit the plane," she said.
"Everyone wears leggings and pants on the plane, but I avoid all artificial fibers because they are more likely to burn and stick to the skin in the event of a fire."
Instead, she chooses fabrics like cotton.
"I would advise wearing cotton clothes or any clothing made from natural fibers."
Why shouldn't we take off our shoes on the plane?
The air travel expert also had a second warning for passengers, advising them not to take off their socks or shoes when boarding a flight.
"One of the best things passengers can do is always wear their shoes, especially during takeoff and landing. This is still not required by many airlines and I think it should be," he said, describing what could happen in an emergency if you are without socks and shoes.
"If you're not wearing shoes and there's an emergency landing or you're asked to evacuate the plane quickly, the aisle could be very hot or cold, or you could have to exit a plane on difficult terrain. In none of these situations would you want to be without shoes, right? It's better to be careful and prepared," he said.
On the other hand, he suggests choosing sneakers instead of high heels, natural fibers instead of synthetic ones, and loose clothing so you can move without difficulty.
