Why are women with good jobs more likely to divorce? Here are the reasons and

Some studies conducted in Sweden some time ago found that women who advance in their careers and reach high positions in the workplace are more likely to divorce compared to their male colleagues.

The study shows that in some cases, such as being appointed mayor or deputy, nearly doubled the divorce rate for women, but not for men.

The results of this study highlight a number of factors that contribute to the increase in the divorce rate among women in higher positions of power. An important factor is the difference in salary between men and women. If the post-promotion gap was large, the marriage drifted further and further away from the cultural norm that requires the husband to take care of the wife and the home financially.

Another factor is related to the fact that women in these positions may have to work longer hours, face more stress and greater responsibilities than their male counterparts. For example, a man who has the same post as a female colleague may not have to go home, take care of the children as much as the wife, take care of the house as much as she does, and so on. These duties can adversely affect personal life, even causing divorce.

In addition, studies suggest that some men may not be able to accept their partner's success and feel threatened by her power. This brings tension in the relationship, and consequently, sometimes, divorce.

What should be done in such cases?

Communicate openly with partner: Be honest with partner about career goals and job requirements. Communicate your needs and make sure you listen to his concerns as well.

Ask your partner for support: Ask your partner for help and support when you need it. Encourage them to take responsibility for housework and childcare to share the load.

Prioritize self-care: Don't neglect personal well-being. Make time for activities that help you manage stress, such as exercise, meditation or therapy.

Create a work-life balance: Set boundaries between work and personal life to have time for yourself and family. Make sure you prioritize family time.

Don't settle for less: Women deserve equal pay and equal opportunity in the workplace. Don't settle for less than you deserve, and don't let anyone make you feel guilty about pursuing a career.

However, if none of the above works, keep in mind that divorce is not the end of the world. On the contrary, in an unhealthy relationship, it may be the best solution for all parties, including the children.
