Maria Grazia Chiuri, the Italian designer who currently serves as the artistic director of Dior, decided to go back in time for the Haute Couture Spring / Summer 2021 collection . She was inspired not only by the traditions of the zodiac, astrology and tarot cards, but also by the "Miss Dior" dress that debuted in 1949.

The collection was initially presented through a video, Le Château du Tarot , realized under the auspices of Italian director Matteo Garrone.
Dior announced that for the new interpretation of the Miss Dior dress, a team of six people was created, who completed it after 800 working hours. The dress includes "gold lamé rouleaux" embroidery, which is a method of embroidering small gold flowers.
The Fashion House also published a video where the whole creative process of the dress is visually described. All flowers and details are hand-sewn and attached through a delicate and meticulous process.
