Pinterest doesn't make trend predictions just for the sake of it. How do we know this? Because the facts speak for themselves: Pinterest's predictions over the past six years have been accurate 88% of the time.
“Pinterest is a deeply visual platform, so our trend analysis goes beyond textual searches,” the company explains in a statement. “We look at the big picture, the colors, aesthetics, and styles that people are drawn to. By analyzing year-over-year growth, we identify the fastest-growing patterns and summarize our findings in a forward-looking report.”
So what's expected to explode in 2026? The platform's latest report covers several categories, such as beauty, home, fashion, travel, food and more, but here the focus is solely on fashion. Since the New Year is quickly approaching, let's get straight to the point. Below are the trends that emerge from Pinterest's predictions.
1. Brooches

The term “pin aesthetic” has increased by 110% in searches on Pinterest from 2024 to 2025. As seen in real time, the red carpet of the 2025 Met Gala fashion evening was filled with pins of all shapes and sizes. Notably, actress Sarah Snook wore six different gemstone pins on her lapel and a seventh one placed in the center of her shirt collar.

2. Ice blue

It's time to shine for icy blue. According to Pinterest, searches for "ice blue" are up 50%, while the term "glacier aesthetic" is up 35%. Another surprising trend is the rise in interest in wedding dresses in icy blue shades. Who would have thought?

3. Bright maximalist style

“The decade of excess is back in fashion, and honestly, it’s about time,” Pinterest explains in the report. “Shoulder-shaped suits will become even more sensational. High collars will be the foundation of every outfit. And the jewelry? It will become bigger, bolder, and more gold. The younger and middle-aged generation are pushing this maximalist aesthetic forward.”
