Long ago, Jim Carrey decided to leave acting and movies and talk about "finding himself" in some programs where he has been invited.
However, it seems that in this special edition of Saturday Night Live (SNL), Jim Carrey will return to acting with a very interesting role, that of Joe Biden.
The actor will play the former Democratic vice president of the United States.
The program will be back just in time to mock the 2020 presidential election. The series will premiere in five consecutive episodes before the November 3 election.
Carrey is a surprising choice to play Biden, given that he is not part of the cast and that former cast member Jason Sudeikis is known for the role of Biden.
However, "SNL" occasionally surprises with invited foreign actors. These include Robert de Niro as Robert Mueller, Alec Baldwin as Donald Trump or Bradd Pit as Dr. Anthoni Fauci.
The "SNL" usually draws more attention during election years, and Carrey's involvement in the mix with Baldwin Trump is expected to provide noisy moments and lots of humor as the show creates debate and news about the election.
"SNL" is planning to have "a limited audience in the studio", as it wants the show to return again in front of a live audience.
