"The Simpsons" will feature a dull actor for the first time in its 33-year history.
Although the characters in the show have only four fingers, they will use American Sign Language in the innovative episode.
"It's very difficult to make a 'first' after 722 episodes. But I could not be more excited about it than that," said executive producer Al Jean.
The episode is titled "The Sound of Bloody Gums". He focuses on Lisa Simpson, who discovers that her model and favorite musician, the late saxophonist Bleeding Gums Murphy, has a son who is deaf. Lisa is kidnapped a little too much trying to help her son, Monk Murphy.

The story of the episode is loosely based on the life of Loni Steele Sosthand, its lead writer.

The episode will also feature three children - Ian Mayorga, Kaylee Arellano and Hazel Lopez - from No Limits, a non-profit organization dedicated to deaf children.
The historic episode comes two weeks after the big "CODA" moment at the Academy Awards. CODA means "child of deaf adults" and the film is about their battles.
