Kanye West published a letter in the Wall Street Journal, where he apologized to the black and Jewish communities, after many years during which he used hate speech towards them.

"I have become disconnected from the real world. Things got even worse when I chose to ignore the problem. I have said and done things that I regret. Some of the people I love the most, I have treated worse," he wrote in the letter.
"In that state, I went towards the symbol of Nazism and even sold T-shirts with it."

Kanye West has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and said the illness has affected his judgment, making him more impulsive and causing him to behave recklessly. He described it as an out-of-body experience.
"I regret and am ashamed of my actions in that state and have now begun treatment to achieve meaningful change."
He added: "This does not justify what I did. I am not a Nazi and I have no hatred against Jews. I love Jews!"

He then addressed the black community, saying that they were the ones who accompanied him during his happiest, but also most difficult moments.
"The black community is the foundation of who I am. I'm sorry I let you down! I love our community! My words as a leader of the community I come from have an impact around the world. In my madness, I lost the meaning of it all."
Kanye explained that he was not given a definitive diagnosis until 2023, more than two decades after he suffered a brain injury in a car accident. The delay in diagnosis, he said, caused serious damage to his mental health.
"The scariest thing about this disorder is how much you believe when they tell you, 'You don't need help.' It blinds you and makes you think you understand everything. You feel powerful, confident, and untouchable," he concluded.
