All the while, Matt Groening and the creative team behind 'The Simpsons' have been anticipating somewhat big world events and innovations. For example, in the sixth season, Lisa's future boyfriend uses a smart-watch, a new concept in that time.
Another clip has emerged from his previous episodes that seems to be a vanguard for the 2010 dating app revolution.

Professor John IQ Nerdelbaum Frink Jr. can be seen talking about his supercomputer.
"I predict that in 100 years, computers will be twice as powerful, 10,000 times bigger and so expensive that only the five richest kings in Europe will have them," he says.
A character then asks:
"Can it be used for meetings?"
Frink responds:
"Well theoretically, yes… but, computer matches would be so perfect that they would eliminate the emotions of romantic invasions."
Anyone who has used dating apps for a while can prove that using them is not as emotional as it is in real life.
