
Catherine O'Hara, the actress known for her roles in "Schitt's Creek," "Home Alone" and "Best in Show," has died at the age of 71.

The news was confirmed by her manager to Variety. O'Hara passed away after a short battle with illness, but details about the cause have yet to be released.
The actress began her career in comedy films in the 1970s and helped create the Canadian satirical show SCTV.
She became part of cinema in the 80s and had her first important role in the film "Nothing Personal", alongside Donald Sutherland.

In 1985, she was part of the film "After Hours" directed by Martin Scorsese. Three years later, Catherine O'Hara appeared in another film beloved by fans, Tim Burton's "Beetlejuice" and was part of it again in the sequel in 2024.
One of her most well-known roles remains that of the irresponsible mother of Macaulay Culkin's character in the highly successful comedy "Home Alone" (1990), a role she reprised in the film's sequel in 1992.

In 1996, he began working alongside Christopher Guest on a satirical documentary "Waiting for Guffman" and continued with three other films of the same genre: "Best in Show", "A Mighty Wind" and "For Your Consideration".
