During a conversation on the podcast "Khloé in Wonder Land," Kim Kardashian shared a story from the past when she used her friend Britney Spears to get some attention.
“Fame was all I wanted, I lived for it,” she said.
A person she was dining with at the time had a Rolls-Royce Phantom, while she and her friend Jonathan Cheban were struggling to find a taxi.
"So we said, 'Can you take us to our hotel?'" she said, adding that he agreed.
Her friend suggested that they both sit in the back seats, to make it look like they had a personal driver.
Kardashian recalled the moment they arrived at the hotel and photographers were everywhere, waiting for Britney.
“They started shouting, ‘Kim, Kim, are you here to visit Britney?’ And Jonathan said to me, ‘Keep your head down and don’t say anything.’”
"Then we went inside and got into a phone booth inside the hotel, because we didn't know anyone there. We didn't even know if there was a place where we could stay."
Kim said she and Jonathan Cheban stayed in the phone booth for about 20 minutes before leaving.
She recalled that, as they were leaving, the photographers were almost crazy and asked her: "Kim, how was Britney?"
"We took a taxi because the person with the Rolls-Royce had dropped us off there, but the photographers wouldn't take pictures of us getting in the car. So we fooled everyone," she said.
"The photos were on the front page of every magazine. We thought we were making a name for ourselves," Kardashian added.
Britney Spears and Kim Kardashian met in the early 2000s through mutual friend Paris Hilton. The pair seem to have maintained their friendship over the years, even spending an evening together last November.
