In a video shared on TikTok, Reese Witherspoon warned fans not to fall prey to fake accounts that have been created in her name.
"There are a lot of people on TikTok and Instagram who are imitating me, and they are messaging people, trying to build a relationship, extracting personal information, and planning meetings. I want you to know that this is not me, and it is very disturbing that people would use my name to manipulate others, but I want you to know that I would never, ever manipulate you. I would never contact you for money, for private information, or to arrange a meeting," the actress said.
Further, she asked followers to be careful and make sure the accounts they followed were verified in advance.
"If someone is texting you, this isn't just happening to me. This is happening everywhere, but it's extremely concerning to me that it's happening on such a large scale. Please be careful and know that I would never, ever contact you to manipulate you or take anything from you," she concluded the video.

The actress isn't the only one going through such a worry these days. Sandra Bullock, Johnny Depp and Tom Hanks are some other celebrities who have issued similar warnings to their fans in recent months.
