Gwyneth Paltrow claims she was turned down for a film role due to the intense media attention surrounding her divorce.
During an interview on the "Good Hang" podcast, while talking about her newest film, Gwyneth Paltrow looked back in time and revealed that her split from Chris Martin in 2014 had a significant impact on her career.
The couple received all the attention after announcing their separation, after more than ten years of marriage in which they had two children.

"First and foremost, we are parents to our two wonderful children and we ask that our space and privacy, and theirs, be respected during this difficult time. We have always lived our relationship privately and hope that, as we part ways with full respect for each other and co-parent, we can continue in the same way."
Gwyneth Paltrow said that shortly before they went public about their divorce, she had agreed to be part of a film. But it never happened.
"At one point I was supposed to star in a movie, but that happened right after what was called the 'amicable split' with Chris and there was a lot of backlash in the media."
Although Paltrow didn't provide further details about the film or the company involved, it was clear that the situation had disappointed her.
“That was fantastic, because I was going through a divorce and then I got laid off, it was really great,” she said wryly.
After so many years, she believes the way they chose to go public with the news of their split was misunderstood by the public. They expressed that they wanted to avoid a bitter divorce, explaining that the whole thing was well thought out, but it was all misunderstood.

"If you've been through a really ugly divorce, or your parents have been through one, and then you hear this idea that it doesn't have to be done that way, I think the implicit message is, 'Oh shit, they're saying I did something wrong,' which was certainly not our intention," she said.
Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin continue to maintain a very good relationship after their divorce.
In 2019, she revealed that the Coldplay singer had traveled with her and her husband, Brad Falchuk, during their honeymoon, along with their children.
