Peter Greene, the American actor known for his roles in the films "Pulp Fiction," "The Mask," "The Usual Suspects" and "Training Day," has died at the age of 60.
He was found dead in his apartment on New York's Lower East Side on Friday, December 12. The news was confirmed by his manager, Gregg Edwards.
According to Edwards, authorities conducted a welfare check after music was heard coming from the actor's apartment for more than 24 hours. The cause of death has not yet been released.
"Nobody played the villain better than Peter," Edwards said, adding that behind his strong on-screen roles, he had a very sensitive side and a big heart that few people knew about.
Greene began his television career in 1990 with the series "Hardball", while his film debut came in 1992 with the film "Laws of Gravity". He became known in the early '90s thanks to prominent roles in "Clean Shaven" and especially in "The Mask" (1994), where he played the antagonist Dorian Tyrell opposite Jim Carrey and Cameron Diaz, as well as in Quentin Tarantino's film "Pulp Fiction".
Throughout his career, Greene was a highly respected actor with memorable roles. His manager revealed that Greene still had projects in development.
Peter Greene is survived by a sister and a brother.
