Oriola Marashi made a public statement, apologizing, regarding a phrase she had used in a (now deleted) video, where she said “to the gabi in Lapraka.” Oriola, perhaps like many of us, was unaware that the word “gabi” has offensive connotations for the Roma community in the country and she emphasized this in her response.
"In a video I posted earlier, I inadvertently used a word that I did not know was offensive to the Roma community. I have removed the video and would like to apologize if anyone felt hurt. I have great respect for every culture and community in my country."

In the deleted video, people commented heavily on the model's expression, telling her to be more careful, as her words could be offensive and racist.
One of the comments that made the rounds online was that of Dr. Kaim Hadroj, a lecturer at Bielefeld University, who explained that her video could be considered a promotion of discrimination.
“Hello Ms. Oriola! My name is Dr. Kaim Hadroj and I am a lecturer in Roma studies at Bielefeld University. I saw a video of you in Paris where you said “to be wrong in Lapraka”. The word “wrong” is discriminatory towards the Roma minority in Albania. Legally, your video is considered to be promoting discrimination in this case. And if it is known, it is punishable by law. As the founder of the “Put on my shoes” initiative, I kindly ask you to remove that video with a negative impact on the Roma minority. It would be nice if you even apologized to this minority for using that discriminatory word. I hope we get a positive response from you!”.

Apparently, Oriola read the comment and reacted by deleting the post and apologizing.
