Actor Dylan Sprouse, known to the public from his role on the Disney Channel, made an appearance on the pink carpet to support his wife, model Barbara Palvin, who walked in the Victoria's Secret show this Thursday.
But in addition to accompanying Palvin to an important evening for her career, Sprouse used the occasion to promote a cause that is very close to both of them: endometriosis awareness, carrying a yellow ribbon representing this cause.
Endometriosis is a chronic and painful condition in which tissue similar to that of the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus. It often remains undiagnosed, although millions of women worldwide suffer from endometriosis.
"Barbara just had surgery for endometriosis and I'm sharing these symbols tonight, just to raise awareness."
He said that Palvin was "incredibly strong to face this experience" and recounted what happened after she made a public post after the surgery.
"When he posted about it, a lot of people wrote to him," Sprouse said.
"A lot of women who had experienced the same things. And I think it's just not talked about enough."
He added that several women had written to Palvin saying:
"I didn't realize my symptoms could be endometriosis until I was diagnosed after seeing your post."
"If this is even a small step that can help someone, then I really hope it makes a difference," he concluded.
At the end of the interview, Dylan expressed his love for his partner:
"She is incredibly strong, and I am very proud to call her my wife."
Ah, what a man!
