After splitting from her ex-husband, singer Joe Jonas, in 2023, British actress Sophie Turner, known for her role in “Game of Thrones ,” left her life in the United States behind to return to her homeland, England. Since then, she has not returned to the US and seems to have no plans to do so anytime soon.
In an interview published on August 22 for Flaunt magazine , the 29-year-old, who has two daughters, Willan, 5, and Delphine, 3, with the Jonas Brothers member, said that returning to England has given her a new perspective on her life and priorities.
“I just feel at home here,” Sophie said. “I never want to move again. When I lived in America, I didn’t realize how much I needed friends and family and how important they are to your well-being until I was away from them. Now that I’m back, I cherish every moment with them.”
The breakup with Joe Jonas and the custody battle
The separation and divorce process with Joe Jonas was a difficult time for both of them, bringing a lot of tension, especially around child custody. The couple reached an agreement in October 2023, but Sophie did not hide her disappointment with the way events unfolded.
“I’m disappointed with the way things turned out, especially because of the children,” she said. “They’re the victims in this whole thing. But we’re trying to do our best. I’m sure we’ll get through this. Joe is a wonderful father to our daughters and that’s all I ask.”
On the other hand, Joe Jonas spoke about their relationship after the breakup in a statement during Jay Shetty's On Purpose Live tour in May:
"We have a beautiful relationship that I am so grateful for. Having an incredible mother like Sophie for our daughters is a dream come true."
