The reason for the start of the drama in the Beckham family is revealed: Disappointing, but not surprising!

The feud between Victoria Beckham and her fiancée, Nicola Peltz, has long been one of the hottest gossip in the world of international showbiz. But according to a source close to the Peltz family, it all started over something much more "fashionable" than you might imagine: the wedding dress.

According to a source for PEOPLE, when Nicola and Brooklyn Beckham got engaged, Victoria expressed her desire to personally design the bride-to-be's wedding dress — a gesture that sounded super elegant and family-friendly on paper. Nicola, thrilled, immediately agreed, considering it an honor.

But as the wedding preparations continued, it seemed Victoria's priorities had shifted. She didn't inform Nicola herself of the change in plans, but reportedly called her mother to inform her that she wouldn't be able to make the dress.

So Nicola ended up choosing a Valentino haute couture gown – and the internet exploded. She was portrayed as the "spoiled bride" who refused to wear her mother-in-law's dress. But fans forgot that Nicola had previously been an active supporter of the Victoria Beckham brand, attending shows, events and even wearing one of her dresses to a film premiere.

Despite this, another source close to the Beckham family tells PEOPLE that the whole story is "far from the truth":

"A quick Google search shows how many times this story has been recycled, just to portray Nicola as the victim. The Beckham family has always stood above this drama, despite the constant attacks. They love their son, but things with Nicola have become impossible."

In a previous interview with Variety, Nicola denied any drama over the dress, saying:

"I wanted to wear a Victoria dress and I was very happy about it. But a few months later, she realized that the atelier could not make it in time, so I had to choose another dress. She didn't tell me not to wear it, nor did I tell her that I didn't want it. From there everything started... and then they dealt with this story for months."

Her final gown was a Valentino Haute Couture masterpiece – a square neckline, a cathedral train, a French veil and long, elegant gloves. Nicola worked for almost a year with Pierpaolo Piccioli to create the dress, describing it as a “natural choice”.

But the drama didn't end with the dress. Another source reveals that tensions escalated on the wedding night when Marc Anthony — a close friend of the Beckhams — was performing and instead of inviting the couple for a special dance, he dedicated the performance to "the most beautiful woman in the room... Victoria Beckham!" Instead of a sweet moment for the bride and groom, Nicola — according to the source — left the room in tears.

However, another wedding guest denies this version, saying:

“Nicola and Brooklyn had their first dance much earlier. Later, when the atmosphere was more casual, Marc Anthony performed and everyone had a great time – Brooklyn and Victoria danced, David and their daughter Harper too. It was a fun night for everyone.”

Is Nicola's relationship with the Beckham family finally over? Not necessarily. A source told People:

"The relationship is not irreparable. They love Brooklyn and are always there for him. But they are hurt and disappointed that he seems to have cut off all contact with the family."

So, a dress, a dance, and lots of raw emotion. The Beckham-Peltz drama continues, though to the public, it comes beautifully packaged with lace, satin, and smiles at premieres.
