While this is a new revelation for some people, the name has been an acronym since the beginning, ever since the company was renamed Durex in 1929.
History tells us that the “fathers of condoms” of Durex came up with this name because these three qualities – durability, reliability, and perfection – were what they aimed for in their products.
According to Durex's official website, the company "has been producing condoms with the highest quality ingredients since 1929."
