Dubai: Irish woman accused of 'attempted suicide'
A 28-year-old Irish woman has been charged with "attempted suicide" by a Dubai court, while some politicians and activists have called for her release.
Tori Towey, who works in the United Arab Emirates as a flight attendant, was allegedly attacked by someone and suffered severe bruising and other injuries. Later, she was taken to a police station where she was told that she was being charged with attempted suicide and alcohol abuse.
The Irish government is working to have Tori released and sent home.

A court in Spain has sentenced 15 schoolchildren to one year of probation for creating and spreading AI-generated nude images of their peers.
Each of the defendants was given a year's probation and ordered to attend classes on gender and equality awareness and on the "responsible use of technology."
