If you're here, chances are you're not in a relationship this Valentine's Day. I get it! Romantic movies (or erotic novels, for those who prefer a more sizzling story) have us believing that finding your "soulmate" is the ultimate goal in life. But surprise: Being single is awesome and doesn't mean anything other than you're an independent and wonderful person.


Don't get me wrong - you can completely ignore this party if you want (super valuable as an option). But if you decide to celebrate your singlehood, it can be a fantastic day, even more beautiful than wearing embarrassing heels and pretending to enjoy an expensive, forced dinner. I know, I know... but hear me out!


When you're not in a relationship, you're the master of your own day. You have the opportunity to spend this holiday as you please, without depending on anyone else. And if you can't think of any ideas, here are some ways to enjoy Valentine's Day like a single professional:


1. Write letters to your future self


Imagine it as time travel! Write a letter to yourself when you achieve something big: “To me when I buy my first house,” “To me when I become my own boss,” or “To me when I finally understand why people die for broccoli.” Put it in a box and open it when the time comes.


2. Organize a Galentine's Day


Gather your friends and throw a party where you celebrate your love for each other. Make cocktails, laugh over old stories, and remember that the strongest bond is the one you have with the people who love you unconditionally.


3. Book a massage (or create a spa at home)


A spa session is the best gift you can give yourself. If you don't want to spend a lot, light some candles, put on a face mask, and take a long bath with salts. If you're lucky enough to have a friend who gives massages, invite them over for a professional exchange.


4. Cook that recipe you've been saving for months


We know we all have a list of TikTok recipes we've promised to try. Now's the time! Instead of eating a plate of pasta like in a movie, make something delicious and full of love for yourself.


5. Go on a date with yourself.


Reserve a table at the restaurant you've always wanted to try, dress nicely, and enjoy a dinner alone, without having to talk to someone who doesn't even know what your zodiac sign is.


6. Watch all the romantic (or horror) movies


If you want to be a little ironic today, do a marathon of the most romantic movies in existence. Or, if you're in a different mood, jump into horror and enjoy the fact that at least you're not being hugged by someone who could stab you in the back (metaphorically... we hope).


7. Buy something for yourself


Who knows you better than yourself? Instead of expecting a gift that might disappoint you (like a big teddy bear), go buy something that you really love.


8. Spend time with a friend you've neglected.


We all have that one friend we text “We definitely need to meet up” and then forget. This is the time to set up a real meeting to refresh the friendship.


9. Go to a new course


Cooking class, painting, dancing… whatever has been on your “one day I’ll try” list. Why not today?


10. Do a giant cleanse (physical and emotional)


Take out your entire wardrobe, clean out your drawers, and free up space on your phone from old photos of someone who no longer has a place in your life. A clean house = a relieved soul.


11. Try something outside your comfort zone.


Take a look at the activities in the city and try something different: karaoke or a night out… do it for your own entertainment!


12. Create a wish list


Who needs a partner when you have big dreams? Take out old magazines, pull out some inspiring images, and create a visual plan for your year ahead.


13. Organize a sexy photo shoot for yourself


Dress up in something that makes you feel WOW and take a photoshoot just for your own enjoyment. You don't have to send it to anyone. So, if you want, go wild!


14. Listen to music that gives you strength.


Make a playlist of songs that make you feel like the main character in your life. Cut out the depressing songs and add only those that make you feel like the main character.


15. Explore a new place


If you have the chance, get out of town or go somewhere you've never been. There's no better feeling than doing something for the first time.


16. Or just ignore this day completely


After all, it's just a date on the calendar. Turn off your phone, pretend it doesn't exist, and go about your day like any other.


There you have it, a list as pure as your heart! Whatever you choose to do, remember one thing: there is nothing more beautiful than someone enjoying their life, with or without Valentine's Day.
