Mike Tyson said "the devil himself" would appear on Friday night during his boxing match against Jake Paul. He gave Paul a warning during the weigh-in on Thursday.
After the weigh-in, Tyson approached Paul for the final showdown before Friday's fight at AT&T Stadium. Paul, who had weighed a career-high 99 kilograms, lunged forward from a seated position to approach Tyson, also stepping on the former boxing champion's leg.
In response to Paul, 27, entering his personal space, Tyson unleashed an open slap that hit Paul hard in the face. The two were quickly separated by security while Paul played to the crowd, taunting Tyson and laughing with him.
A source close to Tyson told ESPN that Tyson reacted to Paul "intentionally" stepping on his leg during the fight. According to the source, Tyson was fed up with Paul's words, and his foot stomp was the tipping point that prompted this reaction.
The Internet, on the other hand, shared the video of this moment and the comments were not few. With much being said about the matchup between the two being unfair and questioning former champion Tyson's ability to win against his older opponent, the video changed opinion.
“Tyson hit him so fast that Jake didn't even have a chance to defend himself,” someone said in the comments. "'I didn't even feel it,' said Paul, but the blush on his face says something else," another joked.
Mike Tyson and Jake Paul will fight tomorrow, at 05:00 in the morning, according to the time in Albania.
