Shawn Mendes has decided to speak openly about his sexuality! On October 28, the singer addressed rumors about his sexual orientation while performing in Colorado.
"The truth about my life and my sexuality is that I'm trying to find it, like everyone else. Sometimes I don't know (what the orientation is) and sometimes I do. This is scary because we live in a society where people have a lot to say about this (issue). I'm trying to be brave, to allow myself to be human and feel things. That's all I want to say for now," Mendes said in a video recorded by a person who was present at the concert.

The "Stitches" singer also talked about the fact that people have speculated about his sexual orientation since he was very young. "I think it's a bit strange, because sexuality is something beautiful and complicated, so it's hard to frame it."
He further said: "It's something I have to find myself. Sometimes I feel like there's still more to discover and I still have to discover."
Mendes, who was previously linked to Camilla Cabello, spoke about his sexuality on the "Armchair Expert" podcast in 2020, where he said that these rumors irritated him.
"It is a very insidious thing. You will say: "I'm not gay, but it would be ok if I were. There's nothing wrong with being, but I'm not gay. I don't know how to respond in such a situation."
Even earlier, in an interview for "Rolling Stone", the singer said that if people like his art, what do they need the sexual orientation of the artist?
"This is something that kills people. That's how sensitive it is. Do you like my songs? Do you like me? Who cares if I'm gay?".
