John Legend has revealed more details about the loss of his son and Chrissy Teigen, 4 years ago.
The "All of Me" singer, who already has four children with Teigen, recalled the medical procedure his wife underwent in September 2020 when they lost their son, Jack.
"Her life was in danger," John said on the Oct. 23 episode of the "Club Shay Shay" podcast.
"She was past the 15 weeks when an abortion should usually be done. She was losing the baby and was hemorrhaging. People who carry a pregnancy to 15 weeks almost always have already decided to keep the baby," continued John, "but there's some kind of complication that comes along the way and the abortion has to be done."
After the loss, 4 years ago, Chrissy published an emotional message, describing her and doctors' efforts to save baby Jack.
“We are shocked and in deep pain, a kind of pain we have never felt before,” she wrote in her Instagram post in September 2020.
“We were unable to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite many bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn't enough."
In her statement, Chrissy addressed her son directly and apologized for not getting to see him grow up.
Chrissy revealed on June 28, 2023 that she and John gave birth to another son, Wren Alexander Stephens, through a surrogate mother.
