Many of us spend hours sitting, working or looking at screens, and this lack of movement can adversely affect our health. To maintain health and well-being, experts recommend incorporating 3 types of movement into our weekly routine: basic movement, athletic movement, and social movement.
1. Basic movements
Daily movements such as walking and bending are fundamental to our body. They help in blood circulation, digestion and relaxation of the body.
Walking is one of the best forms of exercise that is easy and accessible to most people. Walking has many health benefits. For example, walking 2,300 steps a day reduces the risk of dying from cardiovascular disease. Also, it helps prevent osteoporosis. These movements are necessary for your body to function well and to keep you in shape.
2. Athletic movements
It is important to perform athletic movements several times a week. These can be exercises such as running, swimming or lifting weights. No matter what you choose, it's important to challenge yourself and improve your strength and endurance. Athletic movements help you maintain a strong and stable body and prepare you for more demanding physical activities.
3. Social movements
Social movements are those you do to have fun and connect with others, such as dancing or playing different sports. These movements not only improve your health and body, but also help create social bonds and improve your mood. Find an activity you enjoy that doesn't feel like exercise, like dancing, volleyball, or something else. That way, you'll have fun and get moving without feeling like an obligation.
