The Secretary General of NATO is elected

The Secretary General of NATO has been selected, after the countries of the alliance agreed. Outgoing Dutch Prime Minister Mart Rutte has been appointed to the new post after Romania agreed to support his candidacy. Rutte will lead the alliance through a difficult few years, due to the war in Ukraine and the ongoing threat from Russia.
The Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, will leave his post after 10 years. While Rutte, as soon as he takes office, will be able to lead the NATO alliance for at least the next 4 years.
Ukraine/ The recruitment of prisoners into the army begins

The Ukrainian military intends to increase the number of soldiers on the war front in the coming months. For this, it is trying to recruit new soldiers and has signed a contract with Ukrainian prisoners. About 3,000 boys and men serving time in Ukrainian prisons have registered and are expected to join the country's military.
Former prisoners are being trained in a camp in the Dnepropetrovsk region. This need for new recruits comes as Ukraine has suffered heavy losses in recent months as Russia has stepped up its attacks in various areas of the occupied country.
Hezbollah warns Lebanon

Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the terrorist group Hezbollah in Lebanon has warned Israel, saying that there will be no safe territory in this country and that Hezbollah already has new weapons. According to him, Hezbollah has clear goals and a wide range of targets.
Israel and Hezbollah, an ally of Hamas, have frequently attacked each other since October last year during the war in Gaza. In Lebanon, in 8 months, more than 400 people, including 80 civilians, have been victims. Israel also suffered losses, as 16 soldiers and 11 civilians were killed during the fighting.
