Russia cyberattacks Germany and the Czech Republic: the US reacts

The US accused the Russian Central Intelligence Agency of the cyber attacks carried out in Germany and the Czech Republic. According to the US, a company known as 'Fancy Bear' has attacked defense and aerospace companies, infrastructure operations and political parties.
In a statement to the media, the US State Department said: "We call on Russia to stop this malicious activity and adhere to its international commitments and obligations."
The Foreign Minister of Germany, Annalena Baerbock, said that Russia will face consequences after the cyber attack. She accused the Russian group APT28, which is controlled by the Russian Intelligence. "Russian bed hackers have attacked Germany in cyberspace", she said.
Joe Biden refers to India and Japan as "xenophobic"

President Joe Biden has made a blunder, insulting Japan and India and calling them "xenophobes", on the same list as Russia and China, which are countries that do not want immigrants. Biden thus criticized Japan, even though a few weeks ago he called it an invincible ally of the US, after the state visit of the Japanese Prime Minister, Fumio Kishida.
India is also a partner of the US, despite the fact that the latter has often expressed concerns about human rights and religious freedom in India. After the statement, the White House also reacted, saying that Biden did not intend to offend the states. Biden said exactly that in his speech: “We welcome immigrants. Think a little. Why is China lagging so badly economically? Why Japan has problems. Why Russia? Why India? Because they are xenophobic. They don't want immigrants."
London/ People are protesting the deportation of asylum seekers

In London, many protesters have gathered, blocking the streets. They blocked the path of a bus thought to be carrying asylum seekers to be deported from England. The protesters slashed the tires of the bus and then blocked the road. 45 people were arrested, while the police were forced to disperse the gathering people.
The reaction comes after the tightening of rules and asylum seekers in England. Also, the British Foreign Office has used ships and containers to accommodate immigrants, in order to reduce the costs of housing them. Human rights and charity groups have opposed the scheme, saying it is unsuitable for housing asylum seekers.
WHO: If Israel attacks southern Gaza, deaths cannot be prevented

A WHO official said that the agency had drawn up an emergency plan, in case Israel attacks Rafah, the territory south of Gaza, where millions of Palestinians are sheltering. However, he noted that once again, the contingency plan does not prevent mass killings and deaths that could occur.
"I want to say that this emergency plan is effective for a while," said Rik Peeperkorn, the WHO representative for the occupied Palestinian territory, but added: "It will absolutely not prevent the expected additional deaths and illnesses caused by from a military operation", during the statement in Geneva.
