
Brazil/ The collapse of a dam causes casualties

The flooding of a hydro-electric dam in Brazil has caused more than 30 victims, while more than 60 people are missing. The event took place in southern Brazil, in Rio Grande do Sul, where around 15,000 residents have been evacuated. While 500,000 people have been left without power and without drinking water throughout the country.
The dam caused a flood, the overflow of which reached a height of 2 meters, causing panic and further damage in flooded areas. The president of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, visited the country and promised government aid.
The world organization says the policy is threatening press freedom

According to the organization "Reporters Without Borders", the freedom of the press is violated and threatened by the authority that should protect it, precisely by politics. In the annual World Press Freedom Index, this organization notes the lack of political will to protect the media, and all this accelerates the process of infringement of freedom.
"A growing number of states and political authorities are not fulfilling their role as guarantors of the best possible environment for journalists, as well as the right of public opinion to receive reliable, independent and diverse information. The organization 'Reporters Without Borders' notes a disturbing decline in support and respect for media independence and increased pressure from the state or other political actors", states the Index published on World Press Freedom Day.
Kazakhstan/ A mine is engulfed in fire

187 miners were evacuated, after a big fire broke out in the "Kastenko" mine in Karaganda. The event took place in central Kazakhstan and spanned almost the entire mine. Fortunately, the fire was extinguished by an electrician, who made it possible to put an end to the nightmare through emergency equipment.
All miners were rescued on the mine floors. All 187 workers were brought to the surface and the inspection is now being carried out to see once again the condition of the mine.
Ukraine-Russia war/ The city of Odesa is attacked

A rocket attack from Russia in the city of Odesa injured 14 people, causing extensive damage to infrastructure and civilian buildings. The attack in Odesa caused a fire and also damaged a warehouse of a local post office. The day before, another victim was caused in the same city.
Recently, Russia has increased its attacks on the territory, also using missiles, which were killed in that attack. 5 people died and 23 others were injured after the explosion of the Isakndr rocket.
