It's not easy being French! There is something fascinating about how often they are idealized for their beauty and charm. But what makes these girls look so stylish? Statistics say that there are some secrets that clearly lie behind their lifestyle and diet. They enjoy sweets in moderation, cook at home and move a lot.

These are just some of the elements that make up the lifestyle that has nothing to do with obesity in the world. Obesity levels in France are much lower than in the UK and US (17% compared to 26% and 36%, according to the NHS (National Health Service) website study. Not to mention the fact that the French have the lowest rate of cardiovascular disease in Europe.

But what is so special about their lifestyle?

#1 Consume very little processed food

French cuisine is notable for balanced meals that have a variety of fruits, fresh vegetables, lean proteins, grains, and dairy products. The French are fans of diversity, so they don't always eat the same foods. This has positive effects on the gut microbiome and good bacteria that strengthen the immune system.

#2 They move a lot

There is something interesting about the French lifestyle, which has all the focus on physical activity in everyday life. Walking, cycling or outdoor activities, instead of exhausting yourself in the gym, are the styles that the French ladies have turned into a routine and a way of life.

#3 Enjoy a glass of wine in moderation

All foods and drinks are important when consumed in moderation. But a glass of red wine is not excessive during meals, because it is rich in polyphenols, which reduce the risk of heart disease.

#4 Create conscious habits

Mindful eating is about being aware of your eating habits and identifying hunger and fullness cues. Experts point out that mindful eating makes you feel more satisfied with what you consume and avoid overeating.

#5 They take their time with everything

This may sound like something normal, but a common stereotype of French women is that they take their time while enjoying long meals with family, friends and colleagues. Enjoying food in good company is a quality of life that affects overall well-being.

#6 They prioritize cooking at home

Last but not least is the fact that French women are quite skilled in the kitchen. In addition, they prefer enjoying meals at home rather than going out to restaurants and bars.

After all, isn't it something good for our health?
