In an interview for the magazine "Hello!" Jennifer Lopez was once again asked about the secret of her physique, but also about the feeding habits of the two twins, Emma and Max, to be healthy.
"We eat a lot of vegetables, asparagus, cabbage, broccoli and kale," said the singer. Brussels sprouts are one of the most beloved ingredients of world chefs, especially for their nutritional value.
Let's stop for a moment at the small sprouts (or Brussels sprouts): for those of you who don't know, these micro sprouts are the shoots of Brassica oleracea, a plant of the broccoli and cauliflower family, (the latter in themselves are flowers and not buds) and enter the category of cabbage as a vegetable.
They have a high concentration of micro and macro antioxidants and nutritional value. They are good for health and beauty due to their high content in vitamin C, beta-carotene, potassium and iron.
Originally from Belgium (from where they get their name), these small cabbages are a winter vegetable and are generally grown in northern Europe because they are cold hardy. You can find them fresh in markets from October to March.
100 grams of these cabbages contain 40 calories and 45% protein, 43% carbohydrates, 12% lipids.
