One of the earliest symptoms of SAD (Symptom of Seasonal Affective) or seasonal disorder, which is usually overlooked by people, is: fatigue.
"The reason why this sign is not given much importance is that people consider it as common, but in fact this symptom progresses insidiously without being noticed. In addition, fatigue is related to other causes such as work, viral infections or excessive stress," says Norman Rosenthal, a psychiatrist.
Lack of desire or energy to do things you once enjoyed can be another sign that is often overlooked.
"People begin to reject the opportunity to spend time with friends, family or are simply afraid to engage in new activities. This is another sign," emphasizes psychologist Michelle DiBlasi.
With the lowering of temperatures and the cold, the weather is often seen as a factor that keeps people away from various events, meetings or going out until the late hours of the evening, etc. But, doctors say that you should reflect on this condition and find reasons to leave the house and not fall into a state of depressive disorder such as the one associated with the seasons.
Here are some other signs of SAD according to experts:
-You always feel depressed, anxious or nervous
-You feel more tired or sleep more than normal
-Changes in appetite (eating too little or too much)
- Desire for sweets
-Weight gain
- Isolation from others
