On TikTok this is called "waiting mode" and it's a video that has received over 40 million views. It happens to many people that they do not finish all meetings or engagements within 24 hours for various reasons, a canceled meeting, an unforeseen postponement, etc. The desire to sit and do nothing until the day when the next deadlines are set is otherwise known as the waiting experience.
"You may feel stuck, controlled, distracted, or disconnected until it's time for your next meeting or for your colleagues to get on Zoom," therapist Mollie Spiesman tells Bustle.
The "waiting state" is common, therapists say, and is associated with people who have ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) or can happen to anyone before important events such as a doctor's appointment, an exam, or job interviews.

According to therapist Amy Braun, waiting often stems from anxiety. Letting go of all the tasks and commitments of the day to focus on the reception is a way to have more control over the environment and only thus are you better prepared for the upcoming event.
To feel less stressed while experiencing the waiting state, practice some relaxation techniques. Instead of thinking about the future, focus on your senses. "What does the room smell like? What does the table look like? Take a deep breath and connect with the world in front of you. This will help you feel less anxious and stuck in waiting situations,” concludes Gideon Javna, a therapist and social worker.
