Thoughts related to anxiety are unpleasant and all the effort to ignore them is also the reason why these thoughts increase. Although it is difficult to stop them, there are still ways that work:
Concentration on breathing
Place your hand on your stomach and focus on your breathing. Count your breaths and try to understand that nothing bad and dangerous is happening.
Put your feet on the ground
This is another successful way, as it helps the brain to understand that you have established contact with the earth and that you are feeling alive in the present.
Let the brain think the things it will think
It is important for you to understand that the brain must think, even if the thoughts cause anxiety. For a few minutes, focus on the thoughts that are running through your mind, and then ignore them.
Talk to yourself as you would a dear friend
Ask yourself: "What will make (x) person feel better?", especially when experiencing an anxious situation. All the beautiful and supportive words that come to mind, I say to myself.
