
Greece expands border fence with Turkey
Greece will almost double the length of the 5-meter-high steel fence along its river border with Turkey.
The news was announced by the Minister of Civil Defense in Greece, Takis Theodorikakos. He said that the fence, 37.5 kilometers long, will be extended with the other 35 kilometers along the river, which is known to the Greeks as "Evros" and to the Turks as "Meric".
This measure comes as a result of the influx of people crossing illegally from Turkey to Greece.
Taiwan's prime minister and his cabinet resign
