Andrew Tate, the character so commented on in social networks, has been detained and arrested by the authorities in Romania, accused of human trafficking and rape.
Tate, was arrested along with his brother Tristan after his home in the capital, Bucharest, was raided.
The former kickboxing champion shot to fame in 2016 when he was booted from British reality show Big Brother over a video of him assaulting a woman.
Further, he gained rapid fame on social networks, especially on TikTok due to the controversial things he expressed. Shortly after it went viral, social platforms decided to ban him because his statements were deemed offensive to women.
Now, Tate along with the other suspects are said to have formed an organized crime group to recruit, harbor and exploit women by forcing them to create pornographic content intended to be viewed on specific online sites for a fee.
The brothers, together with two other Romanian citizens, have been under investigation by the authorities since April.
