Neither sleep nor vacation: 7 types of rest you need to feel fit again

Neither sleep nor vacation: 7 types of rest you need to feel fit again

Sleep is not enough. Vacations are also not. Work overload, accumulated fatigue, etc. keep you from functioning at your 100% in every aspect of life. It is important to rest, but even more important is to know how to rest. There are 7 types of relaxation that the body and brain need to deal with chronic deficits that come from overwork.

1. Physical relaxation

It's no surprise that the first type of rest we need is physical rest. From time to time we have to give up any activity to recover the energies we need. Sleeping, napping or simply lying down can be said to rest, but at the same time this can also be achieved by doing yoga, stretching or relaxing massages.

2. Mental relaxation

This one is a bit harder to achieve compared to the first one. Sleep certainly helps, but something more is needed. The brain should work in such a way that I take a break from bad thoughts or overwhelming worries that overwhelm you.

A good relaxation therapy that works is to observe. Try to see for minutes how the clouds move in the sky, how the waves of the sea crash on the rocks, how a flower stands or the trajectory of an ant.

3. Relaxation of the senses

We live in a world full of things that stimulate us: screens, lights, music, conversations, children, etc. Experts say that we should all allow ourselves the luxury of spending 45 minutes with ourselves, without allowing anyone or anything to distract our senses. Be present only somewhere without being involved anywhere else.

4. Emotional rest

This kind of break gives us the space to be authentic. When someone asks us how we are because they can clearly see that we are upset and we answer with "fine", we have automatically created pressure on ourselves. Instead we should allow ourselves to be authentic and respond with, "Well, I'm actually a little annoyed with..."

It is much more emotionally relaxing than any other response.

5. Social relaxation

7. Çlodhja shpirtërore

This type of rest belongs to the highest level of peace, the deepest one that brings you back to your being. This can be achieved through prayer, meditation, or trying to find the meaning of life.
