After opening a poll asking people to vote on whether or not Elon Musk should be CEO of Twitter, the entrepreneur has already made his decision.
He says he will step down as Twitter's chief executive after finding a replacement.
“I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone stupid enough to take the job! After that, I'll just run the software and server teams,” Musk tweeted.
This is the first time Musk has mentioned leaving his role as the head of the social media platform after the poll he launched.
It's not the first time Musk has said he won't lead the company long-term. In November, the world's second-richest person told a Delaware court that he would reduce his time on Twitter and eventually find someone to run it for him.
The poll calling for Musk to step down followed a series of highly criticized decisions by Twitter's new owner. He first banned an account that tracked the location of his private jet, to follow up with a mass suspension of critical journalists who reported on the ban.
