During today's communication, the Minister of Health Ogerta Manastirliu presented the package of economic support that will help the country and its citizens cope with the economic crisis.
Manastirliu stated that there are over 64 thousand families that will benefit from this package. In a statement to the media after the government meeting, Manastirliu gave details about the decisions that were taken.
Starting with the package that comes into force on October 1, women heads of families with two children will receive double the economic support. For persons with disabilities, an increase in support of 1,000 new lek is foreseen to cover the price of electricity. Part of this package are also people over 65 who do not receive a pension.
"We have adopted several decisions and it has been determined that from October 1, the economic assistance will increase by 10% for all families that benefit from social assistance. From October 1, the payment for economic assistance is doubled for families that have 2 children and are part of the economic assistance, which are about 5,700 female heads of families with two children.
Regarding the families that are beneficiaries with three plus children, we have doubled since January. We have doubled the payment of economic assistance for the elderly who are without a pension, plus 65 years old.
I want to stop at this support. There are over 64 thousand who will benefit from these measures. It is stable and long-term support," she declared.
Also, today another decision was made regarding electricity for persons with a disability status, for whom the amount of support for energy compensation is increased. This measure goes from 2 thousand new lek to 3 thousand new lek. More than 12 thousand people benefit from this support.
