After 10 days of official honors, Queen Elizabeth II will be escorted to her final residence today. The whole day of September 19th, London and the whole world will dedicate to ceremonies and traditions - as one of the biggest state events that has been held in years.
What will happen today?
8am – Westminster Catholic Church opens
Westminster Abbey will be opened to the congregation attending the Queen's funeral. The funeral, which will bring together all the heads of state and royals the United Kingdom has hosted in decades, will include European royals and world leaders.
10.30am: The Queen's coffin will be taken to Westminster Abbey
The coffin will be carried from Westminster Hall to the Abbey, being pulled by 142 sailors from the Royal Navy. King Charles III, accompanied by members of the royal family as well as royal staff, will follow the coffin.
10.52am – The procession arrives at the church
The cortege will arrive at the West Gate of Westminster Abbey and the coffin will be carried by members of the Queen's security.
11am – Services begin
The homily will be delivered by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
11.55am
At the end, two minutes of silence are expected
Noon: State services end
The national anthem will be played, announcing the end of the state ceremony.
12:15pm – The procession leaves for Wellington Arch
