Fights insomnia and acts as a sedative
Chamomile in small quantities can act against insomnia and anxiety.
Helps strengthen immunity
According to a study, consumption of chamomile tea stimulates the immune system to fight bacteria. This may explain its use when we are sick with cold or flu.
Use during the menstrual cycle and against tension
After drinking chamomile increase glycine levels, which reduce muscle spasms and relax nerves, including uterine cramps and tension, both associated with the menstrual cycle. Chamomile can also have estrogenic effects, making it unusable by women with breast or uterine cancer without a doctor’s approval.
Diseases in infants
As chamomile relaxes muscles, soothes babies' stomachs and stops diarrhea. It should be used with caution in children, but has a pleasing effect on abdominal pain.
Skin problems
Oral or topical use of chamomile tea helps soothe skin problems like eczema, dermatitis, urticaria, although the results have not been scientifically proven. Unfortunately, using chamomile can cause an allergic reaction in some people.
Sore mouth
A mixture of chamomile tea with sage can be used to soothe mouth ulcers if used as a rinse up to 6 times a day.
