Ukrainian president calls on citizens of the world to join war against Russia

Ukraine's leader Zelensky has called on "citizens of the world" to join them in the fight against Russia.

During a statement made Saturday evening, he accused the Russian military of killing civilians and on the other hand praised his people for the courage they have shown in defense of the country and itself.

"Ukrainians have shown how much courage they have to protect their homeland and save Europe from this savage Russian attack. What is happening is not the invasion of Ukraine, it is the beginning of a war against Europe, against its structures, against democracy and human rights. All citizens of the world, friends of Ukraine, peace and democracy, come and fight with us against Russian crime." - The president said.

Russian forces arrive in Ukraine's second largest city

Street fighting has also begun in Kharkiv, Ukraine's second largest city. Authorities there have called on citizens not to go anywhere outside the city except to hide in safe places, as Russian troops are everywhere in the city.

"Don't leave the places you're sheltering! The Ukrainian Armed Forces are eliminating the enemy. Civilians should not go out on the streets."

Ukrainian forces have managed to prevent Russian troops from entering the city over the past three days, but the situation has now changed, as fighting is now taking place in the heart of cities.

Google bans Russian state media ads

Russia Today (RT) and other channels will no longer be able to get money from YouTube or Google ads. Such a decision is attributed to the "extraordinary situation" and representatives of giant companies have expressed that if necessary they will take further measures.

State media – especially RT – earn millions of dollars a year from Advertising on YouTube and other Google services. Such news comes shortly after Facebook and Titter also blocked ads coming from Russia.

Ukrainian military prepares citizens for war

The chaos created has forced the Ukrainian army to prepare citizens to resist the Russian attack. They have instructed them to use any kind of way and every possible means to fight.

The army has instructed them to improvise defences in the event of an attack even under home conditions. How do they do that? Removing road signs, knocking down trees to make it impossible to move, using home-made explosive devices and destroying major transport hubs.
