Linda Evangelista, model, now 56, revealed that she experienced a rare cosmetic side effect from treatments, five years ago.
"As the media has described her, I 'do not know' anymore," she told her 900,000 followers on Instagram.
The evangelist explained that this was the main reason why she disappeared from the public eye. The Canadian model went on to say that she had undergone "two painful, unsuccessful, corrective surgeries" after the weight loss procedure - also known as body contouring - had had the opposite effect.

The non-surgical procedure, which has grown in popularity in recent years, uses cold temperatures to reduce fat deposits in certain areas of the body.

Describing the "very rare but serious side effect" she had experienced, Evangelista said that "fat cells at the treatment site were growing, leading to the opposite effect". It is not fully understood why this happened.
Evangelista became famous in the 1990s as one of the famous supermodels in development, participating in high-end catwalks, being part of the cover of Vogue etc.
