8 ways to reduce stress if you are looking for work

Finding a new job can be fun and exciting, but it is not uncommon to experience anxiety caused by the uncertainty of the situation. However, you can overcome it as a condition through several ways.

1. Consider your perspective

Job search may prolong economic uncertainty, but it will not last forever. Stick to your goal.

2. Stay positive

Positive attitude is important when you are looking for a job, even if it sometimes seems difficult. Try to use the time of job search by finding ways to make it interesting or fun.

3. Make a plan

Create a job search plan to help you with the goal. For example, start by writing highlights and "wins" in each of the positions you held, then update / improve your CV. You can also set up a profile on LinkedIn, or find a way to reflect on what will make you happy at work.

4. Do some homework

If the concerns focus on the fact that you feel unprepared, take steps to reduce negative thoughts. Spend time researching the type of position you want and the career path you hope to pursue.

5. Remind yourself that it is a process

Finding a new job does not happen overnight. Reflect on application materials to see what works and what does not. And, remember that recruiters also have a lot of things to manage. For each job advertisement, they can receive up to 250 applications.

6. Have a conversation with yourself

Studies have shown that positive self-talk helps you to be more motivated and increase your performance.

7. Enjoy the victories

Occasionally, stop to reflect on how far you have come in your job search. You may have learned many things along the way.

8. Spend quality time with yourself

Jobs are a big part of our identity, but we are much more than just our jobs. We are family, friends, loved ones, volunteers etc. Take some time for yourself.
