Health experts consistently say that having a morning routine has health, physical and mental benefits.
Nicole Mahabir, founder and director of JAI Wellness, a platform for health education, conscious living and well-being, says waking up at the same hour every day has many health benefits. For the past 10 years, Nicole has led certified professional programs related to nutrition, meditation, ayurveda, yoga, etc.
Here is what she writes about the importance of waking up at the same time:
Better digestion, more order, stronger immunity
Our circadian rhythm (sleep rhythm) keeps the digestive system and metabolism in balance. A healthy digestion cycle promotes regular bowel movements, which directly affect the state of health.
Improved concentration and productivity
When you rest well and the body is functioning well, and our learning, memory and concentration skills are adjusted. Routines can also help share tasks that can cause us unconscious stress. Responsibility planning helps to keep us focused.
Emotional stability
Positive habits can keep us constantly focused and help bring clarity to the changes and challenges we may encounter in life.
The 40-Day Awakening Challenge
For the next 40 days, try to wake up at the same time every day. If you are very ambitious, you can also choose to eat at the same time every day and go to sleep at the same time every night.
Ideally, you should wake up and get out of bed by 7:00 in the morning and be ready to go to bed by 10:00 in the evening. If this time does not suit you, then follow the schedule that is best for you.
