Fans of "Peaky Blinders" can imagine many things, but by no means the fact that someone else can replace Cillian Murphy in the iconic role of Tommy Shelby. But another actor had more chances than Murphy to be the protagonist of "Peaky Blinders".
The creator, Steven Knight, was confused between the two candidates and preferred the idea of ??the other actor, Jason Statham.
"It took a little more persuasion," Murphy said in an interview with the Guardian. "Initially, there may have been some doubts about whether I had the right physique, which I understand. "I am not the most physically imposing individual."
Legend has it that Cillian sent Knight a message simply saying, "Remember I'm an actor." Asked about this, the actor said with a laugh, “It is an interesting story. "If I were that concise, I would accept it."
But if that's the case, would Statham be diss? So, "remember I'm an actor ... and Statham is not"? Murphy stressed that they have nothing to do with each other.
Fortunately, however, Knight decided that Tommy Shelby would be played by Murphy. In fact, the actor has shown with his roles that he is capable of transforming in an extraordinary way, such as:
