Actor Armie Hammer will no longer be part of Jennifer Lopez's upcoming film, "Shotgun Wedding," following a scandal involving the release of several messages about the actor's sex life.
Page Six confirms that Hammer has "left" the action-comedy film that would begin production this year.
A production spokesman confirmed the news, saying they "support his decision" and that "his role will be rebuilt".
Following the accusations, the actor said:
"I'm not responding to these vain allegations, but in light of the vicious and false internet attacks against me, I can not leave my children alone for four months, to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic. "
The published messages, which are claimed to be by Hammer, describe the fantasy of rape and cannibalism and were published by an anonymous social media account called "House of Effie".
The profile claimed that a message Hammer had sent to a woman confirmed that he was "100% a cannibal", while another terrible message was said to be "about cutting off fingers".
The actor has previously said in interviews that he is "a dominant partner", who likes to "grab women by the neck and hair". He later added that his marriage to his wife, Elizabeth Chambers, had changed his sexual appetite.
"It gets to a point where you say, 'I respect you so much for doing all the things I want to do to you,'" he said.
After this interview, he told E! News:
"Never drink during an interview."
People close to him but also colleagues in Hollywood have shown support for the actor and express "shocked by the alleged messages".
