1 - Micromanagement
This is no surprise. Managers who dominate employees, work decisions and processes as well as run through fear, make mistakes. Doing so at the end of the day disrupts the motivation and creativity of the team.
2 - Management through power and ego
When managers place themselves on a pedestal as the source for all the best answers and ideas and use it to exercise power or control over people, it is devastating.
We all have some selfishness that lives within us, but when we focus too much on our pride and ego, it negatively affects the team atmosphere.
3 - They do not listen
Lack of active and respectful listening is a shortcoming of many managers. During busy work, they do not take the time to slow down a bit and really listen to what is going on around them. This can be dangerous because they lose details that ultimately affect employee performance.
4 - Non-compliance with employees
If the employer or managers see the employees as substitutable instead of seeing them as worthy colleagues to be treated even as business partners, it is a wrong thing to do. What do employees want to feel valued by their bosses?
A - Invest in employees.
B - Identify their strengths and unique strengths and use them when appropriate.
5 - Lack of trust
Since in most cases, it is the employees who have contact with customers and know how things work, managers need to trust them. On the other hand, managers also need to gain trust, because this relationship fosters a pleasant and effective culture in the work environment.
