This photographer travels around Europe to bring 'Before and After'

Kurt Hielscher (1881–1948) was a well-known German photographer and teacher who traveled to several European countries during the period 1910–1930. Hielscher is the author of many successful books on landscape photography and architecture.

About a century ago, he published a picture book of the countries of the former Yugoslavia. Inspired by this book, Casper Molenaar, a contemporary photographer from the Netherlands, travels across Europe to bring the same places, simply to different eras.

His Facebook page is called "In the footsteps of Kurt Hielscher" and is filled with photos of places at different times.
