Boxer Conor McGregor has been arrested in Corsica, France, on charges of "attempted sexual abuse" and "indecent exposure".
He has been there as he prepares for a 180km journey as part of a campaign to raise water safety awareness.
The boxing star, who "strongly denies any wrongdoing", was arrested and taken into custody, according to the AFP news agency.
A McGregor spokesman told TMZ:
"Conor McGregor denies any wrongdoing. "After being questioned, he was released."
A statement from the prosecutor read:
"Following a complaint filed on September 10 denouncing acts that could be described as attempted sexual assault and sexual exposure, Mr. Conor Anthony Mac Gregor was the subject of a police hearing."
McGregor has been in France for a few weeks and was spotted at the Grand Depart for the start of the Tour de France alongside Princess and Prince Albert II.
On the day of the alleged incident, he was photographed on a yacht near the Port of Calvi in ??Corsica with his wife Dee Devlin and son Jack Jr.
